weekly update

Korfball
this week we played Korfball, Korfball is basically net ball but it has different hoops and if you are getting blocked you can't shoot so pass quick. There was a guy called Youri he taught us how to play  Korfball. I would rather Korfball over netball.

Don the eel man

Hello

We were learning about eels.  Today Don the eel man came to talk to us - he works for NIWA and NIWA stands for National Institute of Water and Atmosphere.  Here is what I learnt.


  • Eels can swim backwards. 
  • They have 7-20 million eggs. 
  • Eels eat crabs.
  • They don't eat when there gliding towards Tonga. 
  • Some eels eat other eels.
  • Once the eels teeth has grip it won't let go.
  • Eels eat fish whole.
  • They're active at night and hide at day.
  • They have 112 vertabrae in their backs.
  • There is an Australia long fin eel.

.p-This is what I learnt about South Sudan when Phil and Janet were telling us about South Sudan I learnt

  • 65 languages.
  • People sell guns.
  • Cow's pee is hair colour dye.
  • Big hole for toilet.
  • Use razor blade to show there apart of a tribe.  
  • They have the same eye colour. 
  • Juba population is 500 k.     
  • Driving on the road is dangerous. 
  • Toothbrush are made from sticks. 
  • Not many good doctors. 
  • $100 is 30 cents.
  • Lot of fighting in South Sudan.
  • They celebrate marriage differently.

Hello Everyone

We did a live stream about waterways with Fiona, Andrew, Barry, Elisabeth and John
this is what I learnt

  1. You can turn seawater into fresh water.
  2. If you use too much water you can get fined.
  3. That groundwater never runs out.
  4. In McKenzie country pollution is really bad. 


I found interesting that pollution in McKenzie country is a bad thing.

weekly update Friday 15 March

G'day mate!  St Patrick is here!

For Saint Patrick's Day we brought green hats to school but we didn't have to because our school hats are green. We do green hat day every year to celebrate the feast day of St Patrick's Day but we had to do it early  because his feast day is in the weekend.
